في إطار “مهرجان بيروت للصورة 2019″، افتُتح مساء اليوم، في بيت بيروت (السوديكو)، معرض كرَّم فيه المهرجان مصورتين رائدتين في عالم التصوير النسائي: الفلسطينية، من أصل لبناني، كريمة عبود (1893 – 1940)، لمناسبة مئة سنة على إبداعها، والتي يمكن أن تكون أول امرأة عربية تحترف التصوير الفوتوغرافي، وماري الخازن (1899 – 1983) أول مصورة امرأة لبنانية. بالإضافة إلى مجموعات أخرى لأديب شعبان وعلي بن ثالث في معرض لكل منهما عن الصحراء والماء، ومعرض لأيمن لطفي تحت عنوان “بورتريه مفاهيمي”.

حضر المعرض حشد من المثقفين المهتمين والمصورين، على رأسهم رئيس اتحاد المصورين العرب أديب شعبان، ومدير “غاليري قدرات” عبد الرحيم العرجان.

ويفتتح يوم غد الثلاثاء 10 أيلول/ سبتمبر، الساعة السادسة مساء، في ستايشن بيروت، الجسر الواطي، معرض يضم مجموعة من الصور لمصورين عرب وأجانب تحت عناوين مختلفة.

Beirut Image Festival inaugurated earlier tonight a photography exhibition in Beit Beirut.

The exhibition included two tribute to two women pioneer photographers in addition to 3 exhibitions.

“100 Years of Creativity” a tribute exhibition honoring the first female Arab Photographer Karima Abboud.

“Through her photographs Mary el-Khazen protected life” an exhibition of Marie el-Khazen (1899- 1983) collection who chose photography as a form for her rebellion against the traditional women’s life in the Lebanese villages.

“Desert, Symphony of Golden Sands” by Mr. Adeeb Shaaban, head of Arab Union of Photographers who captured life in the UAE desert.

“Under the Asian Seas”, an exhibition documenting the underwater world in Asia seas by the photographer and documentary filmmaker Mr. Ali Bin Thalith from the UAE.

“Artery, Experimental Photography”, a conceptual artwork by the Egyptian photographer and artist Ayman Lotfy.

The exhibition was attended by local and international photographers, artists and Mr. Adib Chaaban, Head of Arab Union Photographers and Mr. Abdulrahim Aarjan, Manager of “Abilitiez” Art Gallery.

The festival inaugurates tomorrow a collective exhibition by Arab and International Photographers at 6:00 pm in Station Beirut.

‏JANINE HAIDAR ‏Lebanese-British photo editor for the Agence France Presse (AFP). She was co-responsible for the photo production of AFP based for one year in Baghdad, Iraq and in other mideast conflict zones. ‏Haidar left her native Lebanon with her parents after their home was destroyed in the civil war. In 1986, after her studies at Canterbury University in the UK, she returned to Lebanon to work as editor and was put in charge of the photo department at the Associated Press during the final years of the Civil war. ‏Returning back to England she joined a small photo agency (Nunn) specializing in royalty and pop stars. Around 1992 Haidar rejoined AP, moving from the photo desk in London to ‏the editing team at the New York HQ, where she worked mostly on Central and Latin American stories. She has been with AFP since 2001, in their Mideast headquarters, Cyprus, and now in Paris. ‏Haidar has covered major sporting events including the Olympics and the World Cup. She has been a judge on numerous photography panels including the World Press photos, CHIPP, Africa Photo and the Arabuap. ‏Janine Haidar will be part of the Beirut Image Festival 2019’s committee. جنين حيدر محررة صور لبنانية ـ بريطانية تعمل في وكالة فرانس برس. كانت مسؤولة عن إنتاج صور لوكالة فرانس برس لمدة عام في بغداد و ومناطق الصراع في الشرق الأوسط الأخرى. تركت حيدر وطنها لبنان مع والديها بعد تدمير منزلهم في الحرب الأهلية. في عام 1986 ، بعد دراستها في جامعة كانتربري بالمملكة المتحدة ، عادت إلى لبنان للعمل كمحررة تصوير وتولت مسؤولية قسم التصوير في وكالة أسوشيتيد برس خلال السنوات الأخيرة من الحرب الأهلية. عند عودتها إلى إنجلترا،انضمت إلى وكالة صور صغيرة ندعى (Nunn) متخصصة في تصوير المشاهير نجوم موسيقى البوب. في عام 1992، انضمت حيدر إلى وكالة أسوشيتيد برس مجددا، وانتقلت من مكتب التصوير في لندن إلى مركز الوكاله الرئيسي في نيويورك، حيث عملت على قصص أمريكا الوسطى واللاتينية. عملت مع وكالة فرانس برس منذ عام 2001 ، في مقرها بالشرق الأوسط ، قبرص ، وتعمل الآن في باريس. غطت حيدر الأحداث الرياضية الكبرى بما في ذلك الألعاب الأولمبية وكأس العالم. كانت مُحَكمة في العديد من مسابقات التصوير العالمية. جنين حيدر عضو في اللجنة المنظمة لمهرجان بيروت للصورة ٢٠١٩.

أحمد بزون: صحافي وكاتب لبناني، يشتغل في الصحافة منذ العام ١٩٨٣، بدأ عمله في لبنان بمجلة “بيروت المساء”، وأنهاه بجريدة “السفير” التي اشتغل فيها ٢٣ سنة ناقداً تشكيلياً، وشغل منصب رئيس القسم الثقافي فيها لمدة ١٨ سنة. راسل صحفاً عربية عدة ولما يزل. حاز جائزة سعيد عقل، وشارك في تحكيم مسابقات ثقافية وتشكيلية، وفي مؤتمرات محلية وخارجية. له عدة مؤلفات. احمد بزّون عضو في فعاليات مهرجان بيروت للصورة ٢٠١٩. @ahmedbazzoun Ahmad Bazzoun: Lebanese journalist and author. He started his career in 1983 in Lebanon with “Beirut Al Masaa” magazine, and concluded it with the “Assafir” newspaper, where he worked for 23 years as a critic and served as Head of Cultural section for 18 years. He continues to write for several Arab newspapers. He participated in arbitration of cultural and art competitions, as well as several local and foreign conferences. He won the Said Akl Prize and he has written several publications and books. Ahmad Bazzoun will be part of the Beirut Image Festival 2019’s committee.
