The first of its kind in Lebanon and a pioneering experience in the Arab World,
the Beirut Image Festival is an annual one-month regional photography fair held in Beirut
and other Lebanese regions.
Promoting artistic diversity in a world where visual culture
is increasingly paramount, the Beirut Image Festival aims to engage diverse audiences,
provide local and international photographers of different levels, with a dynamic inspirational
and professional platform to interact, display their work, share their experiences, and exchange ideas.
مهرجان بيروت للصورة السنوي هو الأول من نوعه في لبنان، ومن التجارب الرائدة
في العالم العربي، يتضمن معارض للصور الفوتوغرافية
ونشاطات أخرى في بيروت ومختلف المناطق اللبنانية مستهدفاً
جمهوراً واسعاً وغير تقليدي. هيعمل المهرجان على إبراز مواهب اليافعين محلياً وعربياً، خلق مساحة
تعزز ثقافة الصورة، واقامة فضاء متفاعل بين رؤىً مختلفة في مجال التصوير الفوتوغرافي
في عالم تكتسب الثقافة البصرية فيه تأثيراً أبلغ وحيزاً متنامٍ. ه
A TRIBUTE TO THE PHOTOGRAPHER KARIMA ABBOUD
The first Beirut Image Festival will include a tribute exhibit to the Lebanese-Palestinian pioneer female photographer Karima Abboud. Abboud was born in Nazareth and is of Lebanese origin from the town of Khiam. She is one of the first Arab women who practiced photography and opened the first studio dedicated to photographing females, in her town of Bethlehem which was the first of this kind in the Middle East.

تنطلق أنشطة مهرجان بيروت للصورة في نسخته الأولى بإقامة معرض تكريمي لرائدة التصوير العربي، المصوّرة اللبنانية-الفلسطينية كريمة عبود، المولودة في الناصرة من عائلة ذات أصول لبنانية من بلدة الخيام، وهي من أوائل النساء في الشرق الأوسط اللواتي مارسن مهنة التصوير، مفتتحةً أول ستوديو متخصص بتصوير النساء وذلك في مدينة بيت لحم٠
